Katie at ‘Toronto Lost and Found’

Katie joined Dean Richard Sommer of the Daniels Faculty to welcome Toronto city staff and local designers for a tour of our new Daniels Building at One Spadina. They were joined by Michael McClelland of ERA Architects, the project’s heritage consultant. The tour was followed by a student-focused panel discussion “Toronto Lost and Found: Redefining the City’s Built Heritage” which included panelists Susan Macdonald, Patricia McCarney, Paul Bedford, and Mary MacDonald.

Nader speaks on research and practice at the Symposium international des Écoles d’Architectures

Nader will represent the Cooper Union at the Frac Centre Friday as part of the first BIENNALE D’ARCHITECTURE D’ORLÉANS. Other architecture schools that will be represented for a discussion entitled “News from utopia : cartographie de la recherche en architecture” are: Southern California Institute of Architecture, Los Angeles, USA / Università di Camerino, SAAD Ascoli Piceno, Italie / Architectural Theory, University of Innsbruck, Autriche / Institute for Advanced architecture of Catalonia, Barcelone, Espagne / Arquitectura en la Universidad Nacional de La Matanza, Buenos Aires, Argentine / Ecole nationale supérieure d’architecture de Nantes, France.

Nader will take part in the launch of the Storefront for Art and Architecture’s New York Architecture Book Fair with a day-long event that assembles seminal voices to present and discuss the making of architecture and books in The Great Hall. The event brings together major figures in the discipline and profession to reflect upon the last thirty-five years of architecture and book production, and to evaluate the missing volumes of a history in the writing.

Book signing and reception will follow.
